Tranarc is a small team building software that people and businesses depend on. There are no open positions at the moment, but we’re always interested in connecting with talented people who are passionate about building great software.
Everything we have is listed here. When there is nothing on the list, there is genuinely nothing on the list — we would rather say so than keep a vacancy open to collect applications.
No perks page. Here is the honest version of the job, so you can decide whether it is the one you want before you write to us.
The person who scopes a piece of work is the person who designs it, builds it and hands it over. Nothing disappears into someone else's queue.
Fewer people means your decisions carry. It also means there is nowhere to hide on a bad week, and we would rather say that upfront.
Decisions get written down, status is reported honestly, and demos beat progress updates. You will always know where a project actually stands.
Time spent teaching, mentoring or writing for the Academy and the community counts as work, because it is work.
We build things other people run their business on. That means reviewing properly, testing properly and shipping when it is right.
We are a Nigerian team building for clients here and abroad, from an office we actually use. Most of the work happens together, in person.
The same four steps whether we advertised the role or you wrote to us first. No unpaid take-homes, and no silence at the end of it.
A short note about the work you want to be doing, and something you have built. A repository, a case study or a product link says more than a CV does.
About forty-five minutes with someone who does the job you are applying for. What you have built, how you decided, and what you want next.
A scoped exercise close to what the role involves, agreed in advance and paid for. We review it together rather than marking it in private.
You meet the people you would work with day to day, ask whatever you need to, and hear back from us either way within a week.
Applied before and heard nothing? Tell us — that is a failure on our side, not a signal about you.
What candidates write in about most often, answered before you have to ask.
Yes. Most of the people we have hired wrote to us before there was an advert. We keep introductions on file and go back to them first, so a note today is usually further ahead than an application later.
Evidence that you have finished things. We would rather see one product you carried from a rough idea to something real people use than a list of technologies. Beyond that: clear thinking, honest communication and the patience to get details right.
We do, but rarely and never in volume — a small team can only mentor a couple of people properly at a time. If you are early in your career, the Tranarc Academy and the community are the better first step, and they are where we tend to meet people before hiring them.
We are based in Ibadan and most of the work happens together in the office, with flexibility around it. Fully remote arrangements are the exception rather than the norm, and we will say so plainly rather than leave it vague in an advert.
They go to the people who make hiring decisions here and nowhere else. We keep them on file so we can come back to you, and we will remove them at any point if you ask us to.
Occasionally, for specialist work on a defined engagement. If that is how you prefer to work, send the same introduction and say so — it goes on the same list.
Tell us what you want to be building and we will keep you in mind for the next seat that opens.
